A Multi-Stage Methodology for Long-Term Open-Pit Mine Production Planning under Ore Grade Uncertainty

The strategic planning of open pit operations defines the best strategy for extraction mineral deposit to maximize net present value. process must deal with several sources uncertainty; therefore, many authors have proposed models incorporate it at each its stages: Computation ultimate pit, optimization pushbacks, and production scheduling. However, most works address level independently, few aiming whole process. In this work, we propose a methodology based on new mathematical application conditional simulation addressing geological uncertainty all stages. We test method in real case study evaluate whether incorporating increases quality solutions. Moreover, benefit from our integrated framework relative impact stage. This could be used by decision-makers as guide detecting risks focusing efforts.
